Recognize these Names? Google, Apple, Coke, Mountain Dew (my fav), Tuscany, New York, Mars, Mustang, Bob, Sarah or a Bald Eagle

Names are a funny thing. -

Recently my friends and I felt our God calling us to begin a new church family to help people grow stronger. We had ideas and passion but no name. After much discussion and thinking and praying together, we named it:
ReImagine Church.

According the to internet, we are just about the only people in the entire world to have that idea, that name for a church. Haha

When Victoria, my 4th child and 3rd daughter was born we had no name for her. She was sick and had to stay in the hospital for a few days. The nurse told us she could not go home without a name. We prayed and brainstormed, looked at name books and more. We asked everyone to share the names of all the women/girls in their life. Finally, our doctor said his daughter was Victoria.

We were in need of Victory, so we felt like God had given us a word that Victory would come to our baby girl. We gave her the name Victoria Anne and right about that time she got better and we went home. The name means, "Victory comes easy". If you know my daughter, you know that is true.

Back to our new church. Like our daughter, identity and gifts are often revealed in a name. All the names I mentioned at the beginning of this post carry a meaning to the company who use the names and hopefully to their customers or followers.

ReImagine Church means something deep to me and to us. On face value it tells me that we are a church, but that we are "not your grandma's church", so to speak. We know that our nation struggles with a proper image of God, a proper image of the church community and a proper image of themselves. For years now schools have tried to help kids fix their self esteem issues. The church has suffered scandals, decline and mistrust. Families are broken, distracted and fractured. God continues to be interpreted by opinions and false ideas instead of true evidence of who he really is. It's time we help people see through the God given imagination He provided for us to dream, learn and embrace the amazing reality of God, the Church, Family, and all other creations He made. It's time to ReImagine what life looks like when hope and life flow freely.

All of this causes us to say, our world needs hope and help. People are smart and interested in being stronger, more healthier and happier. The only way to achieve these things is with a right understanding of God, Family & Ourselves. So, we are called to Glorify God and fulfill his Mission of the Great Commission by helping others begin to ReImagine a God they have never truly known, to ReImagine a family & church who loves and lives well, and to ReImagine themselves filled with life, love, passion and purpose, stronger and more healthy than they ever been.

For some, ReImagine means they can shake off bad church, family or faith experiences from the past and see a new season before them.

We hope to awaken the God-Given, Design-Driven, Joy-Filled Imagination God has given each of us.

With this focus we will be a people who can...

ReImagine families who stay together
ReImagine faith that is real and powerful
ReImagine cities that are safe & stable
ReImagine church where honesty and acceptance are real
ReImagine truth that is truth all by itself
ReImagine healing and wisdom in our souls
ReImagine meaning and purpose in life
ReImagine hope rising in people again
ReImagine dignity, honor, integrity & diversity experienced in everyday life, at home, at work and in church

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more that all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus, throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."
Ephesians 3:20

God calls us to imagine and to ReImagine how much more He will do in and through us, for HIS Glory.

We love the fact that Jesus has reconciled us to himself and now gives us the message and ministry of reconciliation. We pray and work to fulfill the call for us to share the reconciliation message with as many as possible. This new church helps us get together and do that as friends.
